He’s a student of Computer School for Seniors. The new site teaches the basics of using the computer including how to set up an email account or write a letter using Microsoft Word. Yowell says: "I write letters so much better and I enjoy doing it. There’s two ways to do something. Barely trying to and afraid you’re going to make a mistake. Or feeling comfortable and going ahead and doing it and looking back and saying that was fun." Mimi Witcher, the Founder of the virtual school is a senior herself who took a computer course at a Dallas Community College and ultimately began teaching the course there. Now she’s helping folks like Yowell overcome their fears of this machine…while learning something new at the same time. |
